a thought from pastor chris
One of my favorite movies is called the Shawshank Redemption. In it, the wrongly convicted Andy Dufrane escapes from federal prison wearing the warden’s highly polished shoes. It was the only really risky part of an elaborate escape plan, but, as Andy says in the movie, “How often do you notice a man’s shoes.”
We celebrated “Sneaker Sunday” as the congregation was asked to wear sneakers to church in support of our goal of donating over 100 pairs of sneakers for the children of the Dominican Republic and Haiti. It was quite humorous to see folks dressed up in church clothes wearing sneakers!
Yet, what was comical to us is vital to these children...
